German ForeignMin Maas upbeat on Iran trade vehicle ahead of meeting with Rouhani

Ahead of talks with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in Tehran on Monday, the German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas delivered some upbeat remarks on the Iranian trade vehicle, Instex, a European payment system for barter-based trade with Iran designed to circumvent the US sanctions.

Maas is scheduled to meet Iran’s President Rouhani and his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif, as part of a European effort to salvage Iran's nuclear pact with world powers and defuse rising US-Iranian tension.
