Chinese authorities to defend Yuan 7.000 per dollar – Reuters poll

According to the latest Reuters poll, a majority of the respondents expect the USD/CNY cross to remain below the 7.000 key level amid some intervention from the Chinese authorities.

Key Findings:

Chinese Yuan to gain 1.8% vs dollar to 6.85 in a year vs 6.80 in October poll.

28 of 60 expect Yuan to weaken to 7 per dollar or beyond in a year.

20 of 37 say Chinese authorities will defend Yuan from weakening to 7 per dollar or beyond.
