EU adopts sanctions on selected Russian and Ukrainian officials

FXStreet (Barcelona) - The European Union has announced that in the aftermath of the Crimean vote to join Russia, it will adopt sanctions including travel bans, asset freezes for 21 Ukrainian and Russian officials.

EU Foreign Policy Chief Ashton has just finished speaking.

• Referendum in Crimea is "so called" and contradicts international norms,
• Insists EU sanctions not "harder or softer" than US,
• "We make our decisions, the US makes theirs."
