Speculators reduce bearish positions on 10-year Treasury note

FXStreet (Mumbai) - As per the data released by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) showed, speculators reduced their overall bearish positions last week.

The non-commercial futures contracts of the 10-year treasury notes witnessed a weekly change of +54,801 net contracts to total a net position of -98,565 contracts. Long positions in 10-year futures rose by 40,363 contracts, while short positions fell by 14,438 contracts.

Meanwhile, during the reporting time period - April 21st to April 28th - the yield on the 10-Year treasury note rose from 1.92% to 2.00%.

Bank of Japan (BOJ) Governor Kuroda spoke on the sidelines of an Asian Development Bank (ADB) meeting in the capital of Azerbaijan, saying that the timing of the price target of 2% had been pushed toward the first half of fiscal 2016, with falling oil prices and some other negative factors contributing to the delay.
